Watabe Atsuro to star in FujiTV drama SP "Kiken na Shamen"

Watabe Atsuro will be starring in FujiTV drama SP "Kiken na Shamen" (Dangerous Slope) due to be shown on 30 September at 9p. The drama SP is the second instalment of Matsumoto Seicho's 20th death anniversary following the first SP "Shichou Shisu" starring Sorimachi Takashi which aired on 3 April and is based on the same-titled novel published in 1959. This will also be the 8th time the story is made into a TV drama.

Watabe plays the role of Akiba Bunsaku who makes use of his ex-girlfriend Rie played by Hasegawa Kyoko to become the lover of his company's chairman. With that, he obtains the trust of the chairman and becomes successful in his career. However, when Rie indicates that she wants to be with him rather than the chairman, she is later found dead with her remains buried in the mountains. Numata (Mizobata Junpei), a former boyfriend of Rie, then tries to expose Akiba's deeds.

This will be Watabe's 2nd appearance in a Matsumoto Seicho drama since 2009's "Hi to Shio" and he had played the villian role as well in that drama. As for Hasegawa and Mizobata, this is the first time they are acting in a Matsumoto Seicho drama. Other co-stars include Nakamura Atsuo and Akai Hidekazu.
