Abe Hiroshi at Coming-of-Age ceremony for 30-year-old people in Yokohama

Abe Hiroshi attended the Coming-of-Age ceremony held for 30-year-old people in Yokohama City on 5 January in collaboration with the promotion of his new film "Tsuya no Yoru" which will be screened from 26 January. Although the official age when people are considered as adults in Japan is 20, there is this view that people become "real" adults only when they turn 30 thus some cities hold a special ceremony for people at this age. Abe commented that he agrees with this view that people become true adults around 30 because they've experienced success and failure in their twenties and learnt how to compromise and bear with things by the time they reach 30. It is only then when they start to find their footing in life and realise their own strengths and weaknesses. Around 200 people in Yokohama City attended the event.
