Sato Takeru to star in movie "Kanojo wa uso wo aishisugiteru"

Sato Takeru will be starring in the real-life adaptation movie of popular manga "Kanojo wa uso wo aishisugiteru" which will be released in cinemas this December. The manga by Aoki Kotomi has achieved sales of 2.7 million copies to date and is known by its nickname "Kano Uso".

Sato plays the role of Ogasawara Aki, a 25-year-old sound creator who used to be a member of a popular band but left it after its major debut. Since then, Aki becomes a composer who steps out of the limelight. When he happens to meet Koeda Riko, a senior high school student, they begin dating even though Aki knows nothing about Riko. However, when Riko is scouted by a famous producer for her great voice and becomes the vocalist of a 3-member band, their relationship starts to undergo changes...

Sato will be required to play a bass guitar and compose songs on a computer in this movie thus he is busy practising for this role. On the other hand, the heroine of this movie will be Ohara Sakurako who was chosen during an open audition last spring among 5,000 applicants. Ohara will be required to sing in the movie and is expected to make her debut as a singer through this movie. After she was chosen last autumn along with 5 other candidates, they underwent voice training and held street live performances before Ohara was picked as the final choice.

The music producer for this movie will be Kameda Seiji, the former bassist of Tokyo Jihen, who will write the songs used in this movie.
