Japanese voice actors line-up for new movie "KU-KAI Utsukushiki Ouhi no Nazo" announced

The Japanese voice actors line-up for new movie "KU-KAI Utsukushiki Ouhi no Nazo" had been announced. The movie which is directed by Chen Kaige, features Sometani Shota as the younger version of monk Kukai who was sent from Japan to the Tang Dynasty as an envoy. The story is based on the novel "Shamon Kukai Tou no Kuni nite Oni to udagesu" by Yumemakura Baku and talks about how the young Kukai and poet Bai Letian (Huang) try to solve a huge mystery affecting the Tang Dynasty's capital at Chang-an.


Takahashi Issei will be the Japanese voice for Bai Letian who is Kukai's buddy while Yoshida Yo will play Yang Guifei. Higashide Masahiro will play Bai Long who is the disciple of an illusionist while Issey Ogata will play the 9th emperor of the Tang dynasty Xuanzong. Kanichiro will play Dan Long who is like a brother of Bai Long. Other Japanese actors in the line-up include Rokkaku Seiji, Fuwa Mansaku, Kaneda Akio and Musaka Naomasa along with professional voice actors such as Sawashiro Miyuki, Hanazawa Kana, Hayami Saori and Yamadera Koichi.
